Privacy Policy — CalCRUT.com Tools

Effective 27 July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes what information the interactive tools in the Tools section of CalCRUT.com collect, and what happens to it. It covers the CRT Fit Assessment, the CRUT Deduction Calculator, the CRUT Payout Path simulator, and the IRS §7520 Rate page (the "Tools").

The Tools are provided by Proton Prep, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Proton Prep," "we," "us"). Proton Prep is responsible for the information described here.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Tools only.

The remaining pages of CalCRUT.com — the practice description, blog, resources, and contact and scheduling pages — belong to Wealth Care Lawyer, the California law practice of Klaus Gottlieb, Esq. Information you send through those pages, including a consultation request, goes to the law practice and is not governed by this policy.

2. What the Tools collect

Values you enter. Each Tool asks for planning inputs — figures such as asset value, tax basis, tax rates, fees, payout rate, trust term, and beneficiary ages. The CRT Fit Assessment and the CRUT Payout Path send these values to a server we operate in order to compute results, because the calculations are too involved to run in your browser. The Tools do not ask for your name, address, Social Security number, account numbers, or the identity of any other person.

Your email address, only if you ask for a document. The CRUT Deduction Calculator can email you a PDF of your results. If you request that, we collect the email address you provide and use it to send the document. The address may also be added to a mailing list for the use of Proton Prep, Inc.

Technical information. Like nearly all websites, our servers automatically record standard request information, including IP address, browser type, and the date and time of the request. This happens whether or not you complete a Tool.

Analytics. CalCRUT.com runs on Wix, which collects usage analytics across the site. We use that data in aggregate to understand which Tools are used and where they are difficult to complete.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

We do not attempt to identify you from the values you enter, and we do not link the values you enter to your identity.

4. How we use what we collect

We use planning inputs to compute and return your results, and to identify errors, improve accuracy, and understand how the Tools perform. Where we study usage patterns, we work with data in aggregate.

We use an email address you provide to send you the document you requested and, if you have agreed, to send occasional updates about the Tools — see Section 6.

We use technical information to operate the Tools, monitor availability, and protect against abuse.

5. Who else sees it

We use service providers who process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

  • Wix — hosts CalCRUT.com and provides site analytics

  • PythonAnywhere — hosts the servers that compute Fit Assessment and Payout Path results

  • Postmark — delivers email you request

  • Mailchimp — manages any mailing list you join

  • UptimeRobot — monitors server uptime and availability

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case this policy continues to apply to information transferred, or you will be notified of any change.

6. Email and how to stop it

If you ask us to email you a document, we send it. If you also opted in to updates, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all marketing email from us. We keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again.

7. How long we keep things

  • Planning inputs — retained only as long as needed to compute and return your results, then discarded. Server request logs may contain the request for a limited period; see below.

  • Server logs — retained for 30 days, then deleted.

  • Email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete the address.

8. Your choices

You can use the Fit Assessment, the Payout Path, and the §7520 Rate page without giving us your email address or any identifying information.

If you have given us an email address, you can ask us to tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Write to the address in Section 11 and we will respond within a reasonable period. We will not treat you differently for asking.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser, which may affect how parts of the site function.

9. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.

10. Children

The Tools are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed, and material changes will be noted on this page.
